Vin Diesel gave an internet presentation to potential international buyers of the new Riddick film, coming 2011. Watching the clip I began to wonder where the vocal fanbase, which director David Twohy claims exists, is. Where are the people playing Riddick dress up and writing Riddick fanfic?
Then I realized that he was talking about Vin Diesel!
The presentation includes some concept art, especially of the new aliens that Riddick will battle in this film, one of whom – the ultimate predator – appears to have a mouth in his asshole (or his genitals). Here’s the presentation; the art stuff comes in around 5:30.

Thus far Riddick Video Games > Riddick Movies. That's never good.
I mean, Twohy wrote THE FUGITIVE, right? And PITCH BLACK was honestly a pretty great movie, too. Even BELOW is a good rental. And what the hell, this version of Riddick sounds fun. We could use more ridiculous straight-faced sci-fi B movies.

I thought Vin's production Co was called Tygon, like Liger, which is pretty much my favorite animal…bred for it's skills in magic.

What the hell is wrong with VD? He seems almost drunk as he is trying to pitch this (HIS) movie? Take the sun glasses off pal – your future isn't that bright and tell WHOEVER is out there what you are TRYING to sell instead of "Umm…ing" all the time.
still excited about more movies with that character…its the most "conan" we will get for a while….by the way, Diesel needs to hit the gym before he makes this film…he looks really thin and puny
Not personally a big fan of Riddick myself, but I work with a guy who got himself a Riddick tattoo on his leg, so the fans do exist.
Not gonna lie, I'm pumped for another Riddick movie. Also not gonna lie, since Devin clearly has it in for this series and it's principals, I'm also pumped to read the little snotty comments in every single one of the next year+ worth of news articles. It's gonna be like having my cake and eating it too!
Pitch Black was great and Chronicles was very enjoyable (the director's cut, the editing in the theatrical version was a little painful) Looking forward to a new addition to the series.

Looking forward to it. Done right, Riddick is a great anti-hero badass and this looks like a step in the right direction.
And Devin, when were cosplay and fanfic the sole litmus tests of fan popularity? It is possible to be a fan without indulging in either one.
