Yesterday, we brought word that Warner Bros. recently had a presentation whereby they outlined their plans for their 2011 slate and beyond. Now THR.com got hold of a couple of slides from said presentation. One of them highlights how Green Lantern is planned to be one of their heavy hitters next year, not just in film but in transmedia (a fun word I picked up in another article):

Oh man, the Underpants Gnomes have gone Hollywood!
DC Entertainment Will Be An Increasingly Important Driver…in 1997. Holy SHIT that second picture is old. Does Warner Brothers even know their own product? Many of the characters don't even look like that anymore, nor have they since sometime last century. Where's the slide with Shaq on it? Can we expect a "Steel" reboot in 2014? If that's seriously a slide from a presentation by someone that supposedly knows their shit at Warner Brothers, then someone needs to lose a job.
Slide #1 should be renamed "Make sure the general public gets sick and tired of Green Lantern, until they have no choice but to feel obligated to see it regardless of its imminent piss poor quality and total disregard for intelligent story"
"Green Lantern reboot: 2013"
Why y'all so down on Lantern? Sure Reynolds would have been more appriopriate for the Wally West Flash. But the artwork has looked cool, and Campbell directed the best Bond ages…After this summer if shit, we should all have a little hope for next Summer.
