Entertainment Tonight ran a behind the scenes package about Thor, and while the vast majority of this is useless fluff there is some cool stuff in there. We see a long shot of Hemsworth in full costume, we see Idris Elba in full costume, we see our first look at Odin. We also see some shots of Thor in action while wearing civilian clothes, and weirdly enough fighting what look to be commandos.
There’s just enough in here to make it worth watching, but you’ll have to suffer through Entertainment Tonight’s douchebag reporter asking Natalie Portman ‘Is it crazy how big he is?’

Dude says "the rhythm" once more, Mjolner's going up his ass.
A year out from release, i'm kind of surprised they let them show that much of the filming process and the sets and whatnot. I like it, it just seems like they always hold this kind of thing till a couple weeks out from release.
i dont wanna judge the few glimpses, but i fear this movie is going to have a pretty poor production design.
Looks like Heimdall, guardian of the Rainbow Bridge, towards the end. (The shot from below of the golden-armored figure.) Love that huge set with the Norse shield motif!
Pretty cool stuff hidden in there! But yeah…..that was a laughable 'report'
Could it be possible that some of the out-of-costume stuff was just rehearsal? Also, if the end of Iron Man is any indication, the military knows that Mjolnir was a pretty big deal, so of course there are going to be soldiers around guarding the area, and it's no surprise that Thor would be throwing down with them.
Well, finally a glimpse and I'm glad for that, but, God, I hate that vapid ET crap.
The background music is pants and pointless.
First of all, anyone would look huge next to Natalie Portman, who has to weigh all of maybe 90 pounds. Also, watching this I would have rather seen Branagh as Thor. Oh well.
I fear this movie is going to bomb big time. Very few people know who (the superhero version of) Thor is, and without a well known superhero or a Robert Downey Jr. to pull in the crowds, I just can't see what the draw will be for the average movie goer…
Too bad Branagh isn't 20 years younger, he could have directed and starred as Thor. Imagine the Henry V palace door opening scene a la Welles, except with a magical frickin hammer. how sweet would that be!
Did he ask: "Have you seen her rack?" Or "Have you seen her rap?" Cuz Hemsworth kinda gave that look like, "This dude, KNOWS???"
Is it plausible that the "commandos" he looks to be fighting are S.H.I.E.L.D? The references throughout IM2, along with the stinger at the end, would seem to suggest that Thor is making "problems" for Fury etc., so maybe part of the story of this is S.H.I.E.L.D. trying to contain/"cover-up" Asgardians or whatnot?
Well, we have the answer as to whether or not Hemsworth can handle the role of Thor. And sadly he fails here, just as he failed on Dancing with the Stars. If the role of Thor is not recast, they shouldn't even bother releasing this theatrically, and just go the direct-to-video route.
fucking Australians.
heimdall looks cool though.
