Robot boxing? Sure.
The picture above comes from Disney, who will be releasing Dreamworks’ Real Steel, a movie starring Hugh Jackman as a former boxer who teams up with his estranged son to build a bot to fight in the new sport of robot boxing. I really hope that he gets a chance to actually fight a robot, though. Wouldn’t that be the whole point?
Was this movie once an adaptation of Rock ‘Em Sock ‘Em Robots, by the way?

its based on a Richard Matheson story, which was also the basis for an excellent episode of The Twilight Zone. "Steel", starring Lee Marvin as the manager.
And yes, he fought the heck out of a robot in that.

Honestly, I can't get my head around the fact that this movie is real, and is happening. It literally sounds like the type of movie that would happen in the Entourage universe. Just fucking bizarre. We are watching the implosion of creative filmmakingf in real time.
At least it’s not a reboot, remake, sequel or prequel. And I’d see it before I would see Twilight.

It is a REMAKE, of a richard Matheson story. "Steel" that was adapted for the 60's Twilight Zone, starring Lee Marvin.

Hugh Jackman has shit taste in projects. It's a shame because I like him as an actor, and he seems like a decent person in real life.
