The creature effects for the Lizard things and Oppa(?) look kind of poor in comparison to the element bending. I'd like for this to be good but M Night has dicked around with my heart too much for me to trust him.
it'll be funny watching this bomb at the box office.
This has nothing to do with Futurama 🙁
Yeah, I thought this would be about Futurama returning to TV also. No one gives a flying fuck about this stupid fucking movie. Epic Fail, Chud!
I bet it beats Eclipse that weekend.
It'll be funny watching this make more money than Scott Pilgrim.
This is going to break out bigger than Karate Kid. People are really excited about it but like in KK case, there was no buz on the Internet, hence underestimation.
#5 – No Way
#6 – Of course
#7 – Yes and No. It should open to a higher gross but probably not much more. I'd give it $75million at best, most likely 60-65mil making it only slightly better than Karate Kids 55mil opening. I don't know budget on Airbender but it hast to be at the very least 3 times that of Karate Kid. I hope this movie will have legs and I have to say I'm shocked that this is Hollywoods July 4 movie. No big leads, odd plot… I hope it does well but I doubt its gonna hit normal Jul4 Blockbuster numbers.
My own two sense. Worried about the 3d conversion. Trailer looks good and I was no where near up in arms about Clash of the Titans conversion as most were but I still noticed the problems. The fast paced action scenes are just too difficult to produce accurately in post I think.
I don't know. A LOT of people are pissed off about the casting of this movie, myself included. Plus, I can't think of a worse possible guy to direct a kung fu movie than M. Night Shyamalan, a guy who's films consist of people whispering to each other for two hours. Another thing that bothers me personally, is the fact that a quarter of Zuko's face is supposed to be burned like Freddy Kruger, but in the pictures I've seen, it looks like he's been slightly sunburnt on one side, like he fell asleep outside or something. I'm sure I'm not the only one that's watched the show that's REALLY apprehensive about this movie. I can see it doing really well and I can see it bombing hardcore.
My kids loved the cartoon so I'll be taking then them to see the movie. Sorry dorks. Some of us have families that like shit like this. Whats funny is that all the extreme nerds won't see this movie because of "whitewashing". Guess you hate Arrested Development since Ann Veal (Egg) was a voice of one of the main characters. Enjoy your white guilt.
I saw an preview of this last April and no amount of editing will make up for the truly horrific acting. Other than the kid from Slumdog you would have gotten a better performance out of a high school drama club.
What, the poster doesn't proudly proclaim: "From the director of THE HAPPENING and THE LADY IN THE WATER"?
