AMC has released more pics of Frank Darabont’s upcoming TV series, The Walking Dead (I caught them over at ComingSoon). The first is of Andrew Lincoln as Grimes, the last is Robert Kirkman, one of the creators of the comic (along with Tony Moore and Charles Adlard) and executive producer of the show. Darabont also wrote the first six episodes and is producing, while Gale Anne Hurd is executive producing also.
The show’s synopsis (via Wikipedia): The Walking Dead tells the story of the aftermath of a zombie apocalypse and follows a small group of survivors traveling across the country in search of a new home away from the hoards of zombies. The group is led by Rick Grimes, who was a police officer in the old world, and as their situation grows and more grim, the group’s desperation to survive pushes them to do almost anything to stay alive.
The Walking Dead is currently shooting in Atlanta and will premiere in October during AMC’s Fearfest. You can click the images to enlarge.

Can. Not. Wait. For. THis!
For some reason, I always pictured Robert Kirkman as older and…not so fat.
Can't wait to read the inevitable "This looks like shit" comments from the know-it-alls. That and of course the hipster jerkoff "Meh" comment. I'm sure this will rock, but I just KNOW someone on here is gonna take a shit on it, and by "on here" I mean the comments.
Michael, and I say this with as much love as one can have for a total internet stranger, please stay away from comment section and forums of all stripes until your heart heals from whatever injuries have befallen you. It's okay to cry, you'll be fine and we'll all be here waiting for you when you get back.
Finally! Real zombies! Not half assed crap!
Kirkman's only about 30 I think, maybe a little younger than me, and despite being a great writer, he apparently still loves the crap that most comic fans my age started on in the 90's before learning that most of the early Image stuff were some of the worst and/or overly-written books to ever hit the shelves. Now that he's buddied up with his heroes (he's now a bigwig at Image, which is fortunately much different than it was in the early days), I hope it doesn't rub off on him. From what I understand, he's quite a Liefeld apologist, so I'll always sort of hold that against him.
I know I can't be the only human being that's sick to fucking death of zombies. I just can't be.
meh, it looks like shit
