Movieline, where I found this
international trailer for Woody Allen’s latest, You Will Meet A Tall Dark Stranger,
thinks that this film represents a return to the old days of lead
actors aping the Woodman. I don’t quite see it, although some of Josh
Brolin’s physical mannerisms make me fear.
What I do see is a very busy teaser,
with an awful lot going on. There’s one joke I liked in it, but the rest
of it… I’ll see it out of obligation to one of the greatest
filmmakers of all time, but I’m worried this is another well-cast dud.

The Woodman has lost it.
Just like with John Lennon. When you sleep with asian women they suck all of the creativity out of your soul.
Dear #1: He hasn't lost it–VICKY CRISTINA BARCELONA is really very good. MATCH POINT was strong, too. And why did no one notice CASSANDRA'S DREAM? Totally solid. Sure, Woody's no longer hitting them out of the park, but he can still get a three-base run in.
#2. If that was a joke it was in bad taste. If it was in earnest, then that is one of the most ignorant and racist things I have read.
Hopefully you meant this in humor, but even so you have insulted about 5 million people just in the united states alone.
This is a web site about movies.. It amazes me how quickly comments become insulting and prejudicial.
Can't we just talk about movies here?
#4, I can't imagine anyone else taking #2's comment seriously. I just wanted to keep the naming of number's for comment's authors going….. Anyway, that felt like a trailer for a film from a newer filmmaker who's vaguely influenced by Woody Allen…. and mostly because of the soundtrack. Josh Brolin looks kinda like Tony Roberts too…. All advanced word has been terrible that I remember, but I'll see it it's opening week anyway…. at least he's had one great, one pretty good, one good, and then a couple other mediocre films in the past decade….
Jesus, #8, you make that asshole #12 look about as kind as #44.
Christ.
This movie looks dull and not worth the admission fare, time or electricity used to power the projector.
Can we please stop with the Woody's Lost It claims? Everybody knows he makes like a dozen films year, yeah, some of them are bound to be mediocre to bad. Occasionally we get a treat like VICKY CHRISTINA BARCELONA or MATCH POINT. Stop acting like it's been any different for the past, I don't know, 20 years!
#6, You don't know what you're talking about. I'm nothing like #12, and never forget that #80 is the real villian here.
