I know nothing about Eric Powell’s The Goon, so I come to this pre-Comic Con footage of the CGI cartoon (the first footage yet seen, I believe), with a blank slate. I kind of like it, and it definitely makes me interested in seeing more of the film. Plus I like the voice cast, which includes Clancy Brown and Paul Giamatti.

Let me be the first of a whole bunch of guys to tell you to read the comics because they're great.
Steve's right. I've only read trade 0 before I got distracted with many other things but I found it to be bizarrely funny and am meaning to eventually get back to it.
I concur with comment numero uno, Devin. A great genre mash-up funnybook that is acually FUNNY, and fun. Can't wait for the flick.
The Goon is my favorite comic book, hands down. It's a pretty perfect blend of funny/weird/creepy/gross.
some of the best, funniest comics out there today.
Adding to the choir: Buy It. Read It. Love It!
Consistently entertaining, well-written (even touching in some parts – CHINATOWN springs to mind) and funny as hell.
The last scene in the clip, with the sudden switch to slo-mo is straight outta the pages of the book – a thing of bad-ass comic book beauty
