It’s been over two years since we first explored the brown urban expanse of Grand Theft Auto IV’s Liberty City. Rockstar has made no secret that the franchise is ditching Happiness Island in favor of a new zip code, and if this morning’s rumors turn out to be true, that new zip code will be familiar to the franchise.
A strangely narrative “transcript” from VG247 posits that Grand Theft Auto V will return to the west coast, specifically Hollywood, California – or Vinewood, San Andreas, depending on which reality you prefer. This could get confirmed or debunked in the next few months, since the article claims to expect the Hollywood reveal at the next Max Payne 3 event, or ‘Soon.’ Rockstar’s staying predictably silent about the rumor.

Wouldn't surprise me, considering how lazy and unoriginal Rock* has become with milking GTA game worlds we've been to too many times to care for.
as high as the production values are in GTA IV, the formula is getting stale and something needs to change. even completely changing up the setting, ala Red Dead Redemption, got a little boring simply because the open world mission-to-mission style of game design has been done to death. surprise me R*
Yeah…. GTA 4 was a totally lazy game, they put no effort into that AT ALL….

As far as a different location, how about D.C.? The White House, The Lincoln Memorial, all that stuff. And it would be cool to get the Secret Service after you.
IF they did it right, a return to Vice City would be great. I might be in the minority here, but GTA Vice City still entertains me. San Andreas was a lot of fun, but IV? Kind of a let down.
The hell with that. They should do DC or Baltimore… Or both since they are close enough, they can fill in the space between with farms and suburbs like the did with San Andreas.
