I’d rather have George Lucas bring Jar Jar Binks back for his own movie franchise á la the Ewoks than endure another entry in the exceedingly unfunny Family Guy‘s Star Wars send-up series.
Unfortunately (for me), that’s just not going to happen.
There were so many unanswered questions from Family Guy: Blue Harvest and Family Guy: Something, Something, Something, Dark Side — and from all of the random Star Wars-related non sequiturs from the TV show — that they just had to bring us Family Guy: It’s A Trap! (It’s like they’re not even trying with the titles anymore, either.)
As you’ve probably figured out already, this third installment follows the Return of the Jedi storyline, only replacing memorable characters like Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, and Darth Vader with the achingly less-funny-by-the-episode Griffin family. Tired comedic hijinx ensues. (Gee, I wonder which character will get hit in the knee and cry “Ow!” over and over for entirely too long this time.)
If you’re one of those who just can’t get enough Family Guy no matter how re-re-reheated the material or how repetitive the gags, then be sure to circle December 21st on your calendar so you don’t miss your chance to be the first to pick up this gem.
And to really experience all of the Joe-as-Jabba-the-Hutt hilarity as it’s meant to be seen, it’ll also be available the same day in Blu-ray, as well as part of a DVD triple-pack featuring all three of the Family Guy Star Wars spoofs.
One can only hope that MacFarlane and Co. have learned from Lucas’s mistakes and spare us the send-ups of Episodes 1-3.

i bet the black newsweather guy is the one that says "it's a trap"
I wonder if theres a website that is the opposite of chud. Where everyone just loves everything that comes out and cant wait to be fed more shit. Oh yea aintitcool
They do not even like Seth and Co. over at AICN. Seriously, if you followed only geek sites, you would be under the impression that Seth is hated on an epic level, when countless people out there have to like the guy. I like him but apparently with geeks, I am in the minority. Go figure.
i reckon they're funny. i love star wars and i reckon these are really funny. cheer up buddy.
Reading some of the hatred on nerd sties about Family Guy stuff is hilarious, given the same sites were begging for the return of Family Guy when it was first canceled. Some of you "writers" just need a fucking hug I think…
I regret the day I signed the "Let Family Guy back on the Air' Petition. Little did I know that we were creating an out of of control unfunny and annoying three headed monster
Family Guy should have stayed cancelled after the first go-round. It was never, ever funny.
Hmmm, I thought this was DVD news, not a review. It's pretty simple to report what DVDs are being released without reducing the article into a ridiculously opinionted stance on Seth McFarlane's brand of comedy. Also, I'm pretty sure you wouldn't REALLY want an entire Jar Jar Binks movie franchise on the big screen, compared with a couple Family Guy/Star Wars DVD releases. If you did, that would make you either incredibly retarded or irretrievably stupid.
Oh boohoo. Family Guy is a good laugh and these Star Wars spoofs are good stuff indeed if you both enjoy Family Guy and are a big fan of the movies. The Cleveland Show was funny too.
If anyone doesn't find Family Guy funny then you must be an incredibly boring person. Someone who would be horrible to hang out with.
Really guys? I am suprised the haters out there still open these articles to read them. The problem with people like this is they spend so much time commenting on what they hate, they forget to support what they love and then bitch and complain when the stuff they regard as "cool" disappears.
Family Guy is okay. Hasn't been great since they neutered Stewie post-season 1.
@ Biggs: No, I think what they REALLY need is a fucking job. This guy probably spends all day lording over his comic collection, or getting into arguments about half relevant movies between jerk off sessions. Family guy is not always perfect, but when it's funny it's piss your pants funny. That's more than can be said for the dead horse that is the Simpsons, which has been painful for let's see, how many seasons now, Eight?! Oh & flamers; don't confuse my disappointment of the series to be hate. That's a realm exclusive to obsessive nerds with no real world concerns.
wow….family guy is fuckin hilarious, idk what this dude is thinking, seth is one of the most respected but as one of you said, nerds online dont get that, most who respect him dont blog all day, they actually have lives,im glad they came out with a third, hopefully its as good as the last two
