I sure hope the dialogue/scenes are better in the actual movie.

There was really never an argument that Garfield wasn't the right choice. He's naturally prettier than Hutcherson. Garfield has more of a Robert Pattison vibe to him, which is the most significant criteria in the casting. My sources told me that Hutcherson's acne problem also worked against him. I'm digging the way this looks, and I guarantee I'll be right in front of my TV when it debuts. Will this be on the same channel as Smallville, the CW I think it's called?

It speaks volumes about this project that had you never mentioned Andrew Garfield that I would've completely assumed Josh Hutcherson was the one cast in the role. Eff this movie.

So much of that rips off of the Spider-Man 1 Flash Thompson fight and a few scenes from 2. Why even make this if they aren't going for something new.

Sorry, I like Hutcherson much better. The other guy is a little too pretty. Hutcherson looks like a greasy nerd here and does a really good "nerd rage" face. ALSO, Hutcherson is shorter. It fits more than some 6ft lanky dude. I think people just like Garfield for it based solely on his previous work, not because he fits the role.

This is probably a mind-bogglingly stupid question, but do actors get paid some sort of day rate when they're required to do this extensive an audition? I realize it's likely good exposure regardless, and they are competing for the chance to land an attractive role for real money, but I would be hard pressed to commit to that sort of process with only the possibility of being selected as the incentive.

I like Josh Hutcherson as much as the next guy and think he's a good actor in the right role. However he looks totally wrong for the part. And what is up with his mouth being agape the entire time? It's like he has Down's or something.

I don't understand if this is something the studio put together to see what this kid can do, or if if something Hutcherson himself put together to get an audition. If it's the latter, obviously it doesn't reflect at all on anything that might be in the new movie

I don't see a 'new take' here. I think this Hutcherson kid would have been fine in the part. The guy they chose is kinda 'Twilight'-y. If they go in that direction, then this movie is a pass in my book.

Besides, the new geek scifi/action standard is Inception.

I read in other sites where this clip was posted that Hutcherson himself put it together. In any case Hutcherson is cirque du soleil material.
