I’m quite happy to see Dwayne Johnson getting back to some serious action. Of course the man is free to choose which roles he likes, and if he felt comfortable doing the family thing, that’s fine. But the guy has way too much charisma and physical presence and ability to not be handing people their sphincters. At some point I also looked for him to maybe share some screen time with Vin Diesel, because there was a point not too long ago when it looked like those two guys were the next generation of chosen ones for blowing shit up. Now, in the upcoming Fast Five, both of those scenarios are looking likely to come to pass.
Johnson and other members of the cast, including Elsa Pataky, are appearing online in a gaggle of behind-the-scenes photos over at Kino Gallery. Checking out Johnson’s new look for the film, with the clean dome and goatee, reminds me ever so slightly of a former colleague of Johnson’s and current Expendable. The pics also show me that Johnson is looking possibly the most badass I’ve seen him look yet. Jeez, is the guy even bigger than usual? In the film, he’s set to play a lawman in pursuit of Paul Walker and Diesel’s characters.
Other tidbits revealed in the pics are that Jordana Brewster’s Mia is looking slightly preggo as she frolics on a beach with Walker’s Brian.

He looks like a little Big Show.
"Of course the man is free to choose which roles he likes, and if he felt comfortable doing the family thing, that's fine" —that's very un-CHUD-like
"…the guy has way too much charisma and physical presence and ability…"
That's the funniest thing I've read all day.
AWESOME!
THE ROCK (sorry Dwayne, if I ever see you in public, you will always be the Rock to me — I know, I know, "Know your role and shut your mouth.") is the only guy that can put on a gut and have it look badass. I mean, Christ, he was never that big in the WWE. But then again, that chick he is standing next to looks awfully small. I won't lie though, I wish he would go back to wrestling. Don't get me wrong, the Tooth Fairy was awesome, maybe more awesome than any other hockey themed tooth fairy movie ever, but I'd rather see that magical eyebrow at work.
I loved the "objectivity with a personal touch" evident in this article, and I appreciate the link to something I haven't seen elsewhere on the Internet either. Keep it up; this is what i want to see on this site!
Why are Vin and Dwayne not in The Expendables? Randy Couteeiuur? You kidding me?
Gooooooldbeeerrrrg!!!!! Gooooooldbeeerrrrg!!!!! Gooooooldbeeerrrrg!!!!!
