Magnolia just sent over this new poster for Monsters, which is fast becoming one of my most anticipated films. Devin really dug it, and what we’ve seen of it so far has been excellent. Here’s the first U.S. poster.

They’ve also included this official synopsis:
Six years ago NASA discovered the possibility of alien life within our solar system. A probe was launched to collect samples, but crashed upon re-entry over Central America. Soon after, new life forms began to appear and grow. In an effort to stem the destruction that resulted, half of Mexico was quarantined as an INFECTED ZONE. Today, the American and Mexican military still struggle to contain the massive creatures… Our story begins when a jaded US journalist (McNairy) begrudgingly agrees to find his boss’ daughter, a shaken American tourist (Able) and escort her through the infected zone to the safety of the US border.
Monsters is hitting theaters October 29th through Magnolia’s Magnet Releasing label.

Fuck "Skyline", THIS is the alien invasion movie to focus on.
@1 So instead of being happy we are getting 2 decent looking invasion movies, its the old "draw lines in the sand and say one of the them sucks" drill is it? I for one welcome all of our alien overlords.
How subtle.
I'd be far more excited for this movie if it didn't have the most generic title imaginable. And if they think they're being clever because we find out that the monsters are us, they need to be punched.
It's a little too soon for blatant copies of District 9, isn't it?
The movie is nothing like district 9. It's a road/travel movie. And its good and a bit different. People expecting an action film with aliens are gonna walk out of this a little bit miffed.

Didn't realize we had to choose which movie deserved the focus. I prefer to keep the open-minded approach… and maybe take a look at both. Yeah, I know…crazy.
