On the schoolyard there are many age-old hypothetical battle debates: who is stronger Superman or Mighty Mouse, a crocodile or a shark, and of course – Paul Rudd’s hilarity or Reese Witherspoon’s boringness? Well, that Freddy vs Jason moment is finally occurring in James L. Broooks new film, How Do You Know.
Hmm. It is a tough call, but I think Rudd’s hilarity may win by decision.
While this looks far more Spanglish than it does Broadcast News, I’m always willing to give James L. Brooks the benefit of the doubt. Even ignoring his prior cinema masterpieces, I shall forever be in his debt for giving The Simpsons heart. So I will be there Mr. Brooks. I will be there.

What the hell is Jack Nicholson doing in this rubbish?
Man. If Jack-Nicholson-from-1975 could flash forward and visit Jack-Nicholson-from-2010 and see the trajectory his career would take, I think Young Jack would be very disappointed in Old Jack. I think Young Jack would have words for Old Jack. And I think the same of De Niro, Pacino, Hoffman, Hackman, Beatty, Ford, and Redford. All the young turks would be pissed at the old farts they've become.
I chuckled more during that trailer than the entirety of Spanglish. Here's hoping it's closer to Broadcast News (or at least As Good As It Gets) than Spanglish.
Does that make Eastwood the only major actor of that relative generation that's kept it real?
James L. Brooks got Jack Nicholson an Oscar. What the hell are you people talking about?
And you're angry at actors for getting old? I guess we can't all have the good fortune of dying young like Steve McQueen
THE 'OVERNIGHT DELIVERY' REUNION THE WORLD HAS BEEN WAITING FOR
It's pretty obvious that many of the people above me have no idea who James L. Brooks is or what he has contributed to film and television over the years or that Brooks gotten Jack Nicholson an Oscar(as Jeffmc2000 mentioned) or that he worked with Nicholson on three seperate occasions prior to this movie. Nicholson is in this because James L. Brooks is one of our best working writer/director's, plan and simple. Get a clue.
Broadcast News is fucking great. That is all.
Two Oscars, actually. Best supporting for Terms Of Endearment as well as best actor for As Good As It Gets. Gee, why would Nicholson want to work with that hack again?
Thank you comment number six for proving that I was not the only one who say Overnight Delivery…….
