I haven’t had a chance to see a single episode of Deadwood yet. It’s in my queue along with The Wire. (I know, I know. I’m late to the TV party.) But from what I’ve heard, everyone who watched it seemed to love it, which made its cancellation that much tougher of a pill to swallow.
While I wish I were the bearer of better news — like, that HBO pulled a Fox and gave Deadwood new life and a second chance a la Family Guy — sadly, I’m not. The consolation I can offer, though, is that this winter, you’ll be able to own all three seasons of the short-lived series on high-definition Blu-ray.
Spanning 13 discs and roughly 36 hours, Deadwood: The Complete Series also packs some solid extra features (four hours worth), notably a discussion with creator David Milch on what would’ve happened had the series continued to its natural ending. (Oh, what might have been…) Also available is a Q&A with the cast and creative team, a historical featurette, a tour of the city, and the “Al Swearengen Audition Reel.”
This set will be available on November 23rd.

Fuck David Milch and his "what would've been" horseshit. He bailed on it to do that sorry ass John From Cincinnati nonsense. The show probably would've at least got some sort of wrap up movie if he actually bothered to give a crap.

I instantly knew this was just a DVD press release because that type of shit is getting posted more and more around here these days. Absolutely useless. If it isn't a contest to give them away, I don't care and I'm not clicking on these articles anymore.

The last season was nearly unwatchable (and boring!) anyway. Don't know why everybody was shocked it got canceled.
Why write a story about a DVD release of a cancelled show when another classic TV series is premiering NEW episodes on IFC this Friday. That would be Kids in the Hall, thank you.
Ryan, do yourself a favor just watch the first season and the first episode of the second, after that its a waste of time. The second season is just boring. And the third season is all build up and goes out with a fizzle. Seriously one of the worst ends to a series ever.
