Why have you been trolling it so much that it's already old hat (it hasn't been out that long)? I will admit that I know several people who, based on seeing the trailer, are too creeped out to want to see it. Even though it has 'Criminology Teacher from Veronica Mars' in it, I think I'll pass. It is interesting that the trailer doesn't use the fact that the camera crew is along for the ride to expose him for being a fraud and not part of his team or something.

As much as someone should be annoyed by being tricked via a "crummy ad", this is pretty ingenious marketing. No doubt that I'm sure it will sell a few extra seats in the theaters, and at very little cost to Lionsgate. Of course this will lead to an advertising onslaught of Chat roullete making it even less appealing than the site already is. 🙂

All have tried to be better than the Exorcist. None ever succeed! Think about that, 37 years yet none! Why is that? What a hard movie to follow….indeed!

I got to see an early screening of it…it was actually a pretty solid flick, but ignore the marketing campaign. Honestly it's more interesting movie than anyone is gonna give it credit it for.

I also caught an early screening, and while I really liked the movie, the marketing is horribly wrong. This movie would have a great triple feature with The Blair Witch Project and Paranormal Activity. It's a faux-documentary character study with very little horror and no gore. It works great for what it is but marketing gimmicks like this, while very clever, create a disastrously wrong expectation. Nothing even remotely like what happens in this clip happen in the movie. Not even close. Anyone going to the see the movie expecting this will be disappointed. This is really sad because it's a solid film with great characters that will likely not be appreciated for what it is.
