The new trailer for the upcoming Angelina Jolie and Johnny Depp film, The Tourist is now up over at Yahoo! Movies. The film, directed by Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck, is a remake of the 2005 French film, Anthony Zimmer, which was directed by Jerome Salle and starred Sophie Marceau and Yvan Attal. The plot follows an American named Frank (Depp), on holiday in Venice to get over a broken heart. He crosses paths with an exotic and beautiful woman named Elise (probably Jolie). What Frank doesn’t know is that she deliberately met him in order to confuse people who are after her and her lover, a criminal wanted all over the world. Frank
pursues a potential romance but soon finds himself the pursued as he
and Elise are caught in a whirlwind of intrigue and danger. The movie follows the series of manipulations, as characters realise
that they are merely pieces being played by an unseen mastermind of the
game
Who would have thought the popular trend for 2010 would be people of intrigue picking up complete strangers as a cover or for assistance (Killers, Knight And Day)? Anyway, Depp looks to have brought just the slightest bit of Jack Sparrow to Frank, and Jolie looks delicious, as usual. Looks like fun. The Tourist opens on December 10th.

*shrug* I will admit Depp had me laugh a few times.
meh…. is this really the best storyline they could have come up with? Look! normal folks (who look like movie stars) getting mistaken for spies! Action! Fun! Romance! Fuck you!
How utterly uninteresting. I found myself paying closer attention to the Wheat Thins commercial that followed the trailer…
I'd rather have them mix this with the French version so it would have Johnny Depp and Sophie Marceau. I've never liked Jolie…
Depp always look good in his movies as well as Jolie. the story though isnt that catchy. i dunno. we wanted more action! expected more from both of Depp and Jolie.
