After the American remake of Let The Right One In was announced, many people rightly assumed that much of the subtext from the original would be lost. We knew what would happen in regards to the themes of sexuality and violence that are so prevalent in the original film, and that the remake would beat you over the head with the 1980s theme. Judging by the box office numbers not too many of you went to go see Let Me In, so you might be interested to see what star Chloe Moretz looks like in full vampire mode. And here you go.

Head on over to Fangoria for the full-sized image.

Eli in the orignial was suposed to be a castrated boy, chloe moretz is not very boyish and here she looks funny.. not other wordly and ethereal like eli in vampire mode…
i think matt reeves is a good director but this is a film no one needed and it doesnt need our support because it has this huge studio backing… lets support the original and leave this as the curiosity it is… i will not even bother to see it…
wow, i am still not interested.
Hell, it still opened to twice what the original took in.
I read the book. saw the original movie. i will see see the U.S. version. why? because even if it sucks it will not taint the original.
Abe, in the book she turns into a monster before her attacks (teeth and claws grow out) and can actually fly so looking like an monster fits the source material better.
Also, in the book Oskar can't tell she isn't a girl and one of the men she attacks sees her as the most beautiful perfect little girl so her not looking boyish also fits the source material.
I don't need a remake to a film that's only two years old and pretty much perfect as it is. If this were a totally different interpretation of the book, that would be another story. But it basically looks like a shot for shot remake of the Swedish movie. I'm glad it didn't perform well at the box office because it will hopefully discourage studios from ripping off other fantastic foreign films for an easy buck.
So this is supposed to get me to buy a ticket? Sorry, but this looks lame. You can purchase the superior original on blu ray (yes I can make that bold statement even after not seeing the remake) from Hastings for about 10 bucks. Verification attempts: 6
This was a good movie and did some things much better than the original. But I still prefer the original.
I've seen both the original and the remake and while it is kind of cheesy to re-make something that is only a few years old…I don't think this was bad at all…in fact I really dug the film. Go see it and judge for yourself.
This maybe the first time a remake is actually good, but still people won't see it because they don't trust the Studio's. Classic!
So Let Me In will tank. Then the Studio's will see it as confirmation that people don't want to see any artistic movies, and they will make crap again. It's so funny I can't stop laughing!
didnt see the original but saw this version. i really enjoyed the movie, not so much for the special effects or gore, but for the acting. there was a beautiful on screen chemistry between the two young actors, and the touching story really resonated.
