.Director Asger Leth’s upcoming Man on a Ledge production has just snared a few actors. Hollywood Reporter says both Edward Burns and Genesis Rodriguez have signed on to support star Sam Worthington in the film.

The plot centers on an ex-cop who’s had a meltdown of sorts (Worthington), and decides to camp out on the ledge of a high-rise. When an NYPD negotiator is called in (played by Elizabeth Banks) things start getting more tense, as it becomes apparent Worthington has other reasons for being on the edge, rather than simple suicide.

Burns is to play a competing negotiator who shows up when Banks’ character is unable to quell the situation, so expect lots of conflict between those two. Along with Burns and Rodriguez, Jamie Bell and Anthony Mackie have also recently been given roles, with Bell playing Genesis’ boyfriend.

Sounds a little generic at the moment, so hopefully this will turn into something better and not become another by-the-numbers thriller.
