Several images from the set of Cronenberg’s latest collaboration with the Mortensen appeared online back in June, but yesterday saw the release of some “official” stills from the upcoming dueling-shrink movie A Dangerous Method. Those images showed a bit more behind the scenes action and more up-close shots of the actors in costume, so have a look at those if you’re interested in refreshing the memory.

Overall these new ones are bland, like most stills… although Viggo Mortensen looks perfectly intense as Sigmund Freud.

A Dangerous Method is the story of a love triangle between Carl Jung (Michael Fassbender), Sigmund Freud (Viggo Mortensen) and Sabina Spielrein (Keira Knightley), set right before WWI. For your fill of thirds this marks collaboration #3 between Cronenberg and Mortensen, as well as the third film for Cronenberg and producer Jeremy Thomas.

The film is tentatively set for a February 2011 release date.

New Cronenberg, can't wait.
Mortensen as Freud, love triangle? If this film isn't to the brim with Cronenberg perversion then this will be a huge missed opportunity.
This one will feature the first historical threesome ever put on film! Cronenburg, after filming the first 69, is really reaching for the stars!
Definitely one of my most anticipated films right now. I only wonder why they didn't try to get it out for awards consideration this year? Hopefully it's not a misfire…Cronenberg makes movies way too infrequently to be allowed any misfires.
YES.
Ummm… is that last shot an impending Cronenberg directed period Knightly on Fassbender blowjay scene? Ummm… when do tickets go on sale?
