And there you have it- Chris Evans is Captain America, looking more coiffed and Aryan than ever before (despite the brown eyes).
Entertainment Weekly has debuted the photo as their next cover (self-evidently), and I’m sure the issue itself will bring a few more snapshots we’ve never seen before. We’ve seen the
costume on a stuntman before, and we’ve seen
Chris Evans as the character, but this is the first time we’ve seen the character in the costume as the hero we’ll be watching come July 22nd, 2011. The costume is well done, and almost exactly what we’ve been expecting (though the padding in the outfit looks a little bit like modern motorcycle gear to me, though Chris looks oddly concerned in this picture. It’s not the kind of look that demonstrates general concern for the imminent danger of the world, but something more like concern that he’s not sure where this photoshoot is going and he forgot to bleach his assgate. Also:

That same tease has a few quotes from the interview featured in the issue, which includes Chris Evans describing his nervousness over accepting the part.
“At the time, I remember telling a buddy of mine, ‘If the movie bombs, I’m fucked. If the movie hits, I’m fucked!’ …I was just scared, I realized my whole decision making process was fear based, and you never want to make a decision out of fear… I can’t believe I was almost too chicken to play Captain America.”
Despite his trepidation he ended up with a contract that secures him for half-a-dozen Marvel films, and places him front-and-center in the set-up to the massive scale Avengers film.
Also mentioned in the article’s summary of the film is that the cosmic cube will be an important plot device, as Devin caught onto and confirmed at Comic Con. Apparently it’s been renamed “The Tesseract.”
The magazine is out tomorrow.

I'm glad Rappe didn't report on this one; otherwise, we'd have to hear about how hot and bothered it made her, required her to stand in front of a freezer then change her clothes.
Well lets see if he fucks this up like he did with the character of Johnny Storm in FOX's FFIV
Congrats Captain America looks like a giant Douchebag
The costume looks way better than it has any right to be. Compared to the Green Lantern EW cover, this is very promising. And Chris Evans was amazing in Scott Pilgrim.
He just wants the photoshoot to finish up so he can go back to gettin' blazed in his Winny.
It looks gay, it's going to suck, and I'm sick of superhero movies. There. Now no one else has to express those sentiments. Ever. Again.
@Girl Girls Girls
Please. Only if it's Wolverine.
But now we know how the photo made you feel. TMI, dude. TMI.
Those lips remind me of a young Peter Weller.
This just in: Nobody cares about Captain America. This film will do mediocre business at best.
This just in: Nobody cares about Iron Man. This film will do mediocre business at best.
Looks so much better than the Costume Illustration. The Design team did a great job of making it come to life.
Great article, Finnish composer Jean Sibelius.
I didn't realize that Owen Wilson would be playing Cap! It's nice to see that he's doing well these days.
Simply ridiculous. This is an awful idea and even worse casting. It just screws with this casual fan's continuity issues with these overly-produced, puffy-chesty, bullshit superhero films.
I really guess I'm too old for this shit…
FYI: Casual fans don't have continuity issues. Casual fans don't give a flying fuck about continuity.
