Just lit up your cigarette after having been throughly sexed up by Frank Darabont’s adaptation of The Walking Dead? Shuddering with anticipation of the next episode? Well sit up out of the wet spot, there’s more to see.
AMC has just posted these two new photos from the next episode. Above is a shot of Lori (Sarah Wayne Callies), the wife of series lead Rick (Andrew Lincoln), and the one below shows what happens when Rick meets up with Glenn (Steven Yeun), probably one of the series’ most popular characters.
They’ve also posted this clip from the episode, which is actually the second one they showed at this year’s New York Comic Con- you can read descriptions of both of those right here.
This second episode was also written by Frank Darabont, so you know we’re in good hands. Personally I thought the first show was MEH. I thought it would be better.
Completely agree with you on that. While I am looking forward to the next episode i felt that the pilot was a bit too leisurely paced. with that said I love that we have a zombie TV show now! with bloody head shots and disembowelment!
I thought the first episode was great, very creepy and dreadful.
To the idiots above: It may have been slow for your burned out on crap TV brains, but it was actually a thing called "setting a tone".
Sad that people don't have the attention span for good storytelling anymore.
Pilot was ok. I thought Andrew Lincoln's version of an American accent was a little too hammy at times though. Not sure why they picked a London born/based actor to play a Southern part, someone like Nathan Fillion (Slither) would have been better IMO.
I agree with JJJ. How boring or insensed would you become if it were nothing but romero-like feeding scenes. This was a pot boiler of an episode where the world is slowly unfolded for the main character. Attention spans are being shortened by the year and its a sad sad thing, cause that it the deathbell for anticipation.
Can we get a worldwide ban on the use of the non-word "meh" to describe anything? It's a lazy way of not committing to an opinion. And it's fucking annoying.

That Nathan Fillion comment was meant to be a sarcastic reference to how internet fanboys recommend him for every role, right. RIGHT?? As for the Walking Dead, brilliant. There was nothing really new from a genre perspective, but it somehow seemed fresh. And for the haters – we now live in a world where there is a TV series about the Zombie Apocalypse!! Good times indeed…
I loved it. If you didn't you don't have to watch it. I'm sure your dvd collection of 'Heroes' feels lonely. WONDERFULLY paced, very well-acted, beautifully shot, hmmmm?…..yeah, it was great.
This pilot was bad. Darabont can't direct his way out of a paper bag. Horrible choices, terrible timing (about to commit suicide then into the tank), and he's got to stop using that stroboscopic effect. Terrible choice of music at the end in a sad attempt to be cool. Not to mention that the whole thing is based on a boring and utterly derivative comic book. A real let-down. Should make the Aint-It-Cool crowd giddy with douche-chills.
What show did some people watch? Easily one of the best pilots ever made – the last 15 minutes alone were brilliant (and pretty damn tense, despite knowing that Grimes would survive). I thought the zombie genre was pretty much dead (no pun intended) but The Walking Dead proves that there's still life to such material. In fact, I'm glad I never got round to reading the comic, I can't wait to see what happens next.
Anyone who thought it was slow needs to go Carradine themselves.
I can't count the number of times I turned to my wife and said, "can you believe we live in this universe"? We have a freaking Darabont produced ZOMBIE SHOW ON AMC WITH FULL GORE I MEAN COME ON THIS IS GOOD TIMES PEOPLE!!!!!!!!

I agree with your comment about the bad timing with the kill-myself-then-RIGHT-into-the-tank, and the stroboscopic effect was lame, but the rest of the show was magnificent. The graphic novel is fuckin' beautiful too…guess it just isn't your cup of tea, but I'm curious as to why you'd watch the show if you disliked the graphic novel anyway.
the show is wicked, and is gonna be just as good a 28 day / weeks later.

wtf i thought the comic was fucking awsome . the episode was kinda slow but its the first episode so stfu its gotta start somewhere sure rick and shane dont look like there comic book counterparts but we u get what u get. be glad that theres something to watch on sundays im just kinda pissed that it plays the same time dexter does . that is kinda lame
