After every director in Hollywood was listed and considered for Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, Lionsgate has finally signed someone to the undead thing. According to Deadline Hollywood Daily, Mike White will be sailing to Surrey, and making Jane Austen spin in her grave.
Is White the man who can make this concept watchable? I think so. Pride and Prejudice and Zombies needs to believe in itself 100%, and not blink an eye at all the anachronisms and absurdities. Nacho Libre did that. I just hope some of the unbridled joy of School of Rock makes it in.
The jury is still out on casting. The studio hopes are still pinned on Scarlett Johansson and Bradley Cooper, but Johansson’s schedule is pretty full. As meta and delightful as it would be for Keira Knightley to be a sword-swinging Elizabeth, I humbly submit Emily Blunt for consideration. She lost out on one action role to Johansson, and if you can’t play Black Widow, then you should get to behead a zombie or two. It’s only fair.

I could see Blunt making it work. Cooper could be fun and White's an interesting choice to helm. I hope they keep the author involved, because he did a really good job juggling all the insane elements.
Ack, I think I'm having a flashback from the "I'M DOMINO HARVEY" marketing campaign!
"Nacho Libre did that".
Yep.
And it was an unmitigated piece of shit.
C'mon now, people…bashing NACHO LIBRE? All that movie ever wanted to do was make you happy.
