think we all need at least one really nice positive thing about the
entertainment business every single day of the year, including weekends.
Sometimes it may be something simple, like a video that showcases
something fun and sometimes it may be a movie poster that embraces the
aesthetic we all want Hollywood to aspire to. Sometimes it may be a
long-winded diatribe. Sometimes it’ll be from the staff and extended
family of CHUD.com. Maybe even you readers can get in on it. So, take
this to the bank. Every day, you will get a little bit of positivity
from one column a day here. Take it with you. Maybe it’ll help you
through a bad day or give folks some fun things to hunt down in their
busy celluloid digesting day.

That’s a partial list, and if I forgot you it’s not because you don’t matter. It’s because it’s been a very daunting exercise for me and I know I’m forgetting more than I care to think of. People I love. People who mean an awful lot to me. I apologize. I will amend this list if need be.
But there’s more…
These are readers and friends who have helped us through thick and thin. Some very desperate times and some months where the only way hosting or staff was able to exist was because of their generosity. Once again, a partial list.
But there’s more…
There are almost forty-five thousand registered users on our message boards. Friends. Enemies. Complete strangers. Lifelong friendships, deaths, births, hardships, and glorious moments all have transpired here. At least one marriage exists because of the community we’ve forged. People have come here with the most heartbreaking news and tales of great adventure. We found a refuge here on 9.11.01 when many major news servers were down and we kept each other as sane as possible until we too collapsed under bandwidth overage.
You supported me through many dumb decisions and many lame attempts at what I thought was improving the site. We were the official message boards for Osmosis Jones for God’s sake. I’m sure I’ll make more dumb decisions, and for some reason I know a lot of you will let me know and some others will endure my frivolities because you see the big picture.
You’ve made this a home for some people. That cannot be bought, faked, or expected. It can’t be taken for granted.
I am flabbergasted. As proud I am at the site being what it is and still being of value to so many, I stand in awe of you. When it comes to the internet and my place in it. I owe it all to the people above and to you, the readers. Thank you so much for being you and letting me be me.
Happy Thanksgiving.
By Christmas you’ll have a new CHUD.com, hopefully one that reflects the improvements you want and gives you a lot more reasons to hang around.
Requirements:
Well written, fun, and not self-promotional. Also, no pseudonyms or
fake names. Stand up and be proud of your opinions. MESSAGE BOARD SUBMISSION THREAD or EMAIL YOUR IDEA TO ME.

I'm thankful for your check
And I am thankful for you and CHUD.com! I see the big picture and not only endure all your frivolities but gladly look forward to anything and everything that your witty, twisted, and brilliant mind produces.
Cool. But did have to put that mirror up there? DID YOU!!? You do know that if a troll sees their reflection they die within 24 hours? …Oh, you sneaky fuck. Have a great day!
Thanksgiving love back at you, Nick. Discovering CHUD was a huge exhale as a film fan. ( I won't mention other sites) Happy Turkey-Day, y'all.
May the arching boner of Squanto protect you at all times.
Was gonna post something marginally funny, but I'm still laughing at #5, so that'll do. Nice work at CHUD, Nick.
Thanks Nick.
Thanks, Nick!
It's funny to read this, and then read the comments Nick puts up where he gets all mad and calls people names for not liking a post on the site. Classic Bi-Polar behavior. Nick is thankful for you, as long as you agree with him. (next will be a comment from Nick calling me a name and telling me to shut up) Happy Thanksgiving!
I yell at my daughter sometimes too. Doesn't affect the golden bottom lne that I love her and would do anything for her. Me, unlike you… is a person who is not perfect every day and is prone to losing their cool as well as having good days.
Thanks, man. Have a happy thanksgiving and keep up the good work!
Thanks, Nick. I guess we like you too.
Merry Thanksgiving, fellow Chewers!
I'm pretty thankful for all the behind-the-scenes hard work that goes into sites like this. We pay nothing, and I've personally contributed very little, but I want you guys to know that not all of us take your efforts for granted. Chud is a daily read for me, and I always enjoy it. Looking forward to the new site…
Also, #1 is pretty funny. But we all know the real Devin would never say "thanks".
Devin would have killed himself or still been writing about subways if it wasn't for Nick. He should say thanks. Fag.
When it came to discovering Internet movie news all those years ago, I came for Aint it cool, but stayed for Chud. Thanks for all the news, lists and laughs!
what is the issue with devin & nick? i frequently see comments on here suggesting there is some animosity between them. is that founded, or just commenter speculation? i thought devin left on good terms. if not, spill the beans, because i LOVE gossip like a 16 year old girl
Nice post and congratulations on all of you for creating something that lasted more than two years. That's quite an achievement indeed. I, for one, am very happy you're all doing it so I'm gonna click on one of your banners and buy something to put my money where my mouth is.
Thanks to you, Nick!
