THE AUDI QUATTROS AND THE MAZDA 3s:
These guys have four Graboids and three Graboids.  For some reason, I felt the need to equate that with car models.

Congratulations to all the winners.  It’s been real, it’s been fun, but it ain’t been real fun.  More Graboid to come in 2011.

Happy New Year.

The Graboid is a regular fearture of CHUD, a game played between us and the Chewers, where we “grab” a still from a movie and invite the readers to try to guess from which film it came.  It has both its regular (i.e. rabid) and its casual players as well.  We keep track of who has amassed the most successful guesses and we compile them for this year-end tally below.  Yesterday, we completed the year-long competition with a massive grabfest called Armagrabbon.  It was a Christmas filled with triumph, heartache, and giant worms adorning Chewers’ trophy cases.  The results from the year of Graboid are below.

THE ONCE AND FUTURE GRAND POOBAH:
Walter proved once again why he is the undisputed king of killing giant worms with 52 total.  Last year’s champion as well, he had some serious competition from an upstart, some new cat from Arizona who goes by the handle, Teitr Styrr.  Teitr ruled the competition for most of the year.  In fact, going into Armagrabbon, Teitr was looking at snatching the title for himself.  But when the chips were down, the Poobah came on like a force of nature and bagged a ridiculous 22 worm carcasses.  This Brit kept not only a stiff upper lip, but other things stiff we don’t even want to think about.

In the midst of such a dominant and reaffirming victory, only the words of Churchill seem sufficient: “Let us therefore brace ourselves to our duties, and so bear ourselves, that if the British Empire and its Commonwealth last for a thousand years, men will still say, ‘This was their finest hour’.”

Sir Walter, we salute you.

No one will understand this shit. This is the sort of article that drives away the casual reader or even the regular reader that doesn't get the joke. this is suxors. Keep posting this unfunny, unentertaining, thick bullshit at your own eventual peril. Seriously Nick, kill this shit. This is straight Bridger.

You chose your alias well.

Maybe if you joined in Frito and played the Graboid you'd see how much fun you can have.

Your statement makes no sense as lots of people obviously understand and care about the Graboid. Otherwise there wouldn't be an annual competition.

Our thread is full and friendly with great people who love film and this site and visit constantly because of this competition.

You should join in. Maybe then you wouldn't be so angry.

Merry Christmas

Ya, this shit is way fun. I didn't even get on this stuff until midway through my semester of school and teaching, and disappeared halfway through November (mostly) for personal quandaries and finals, but I have to say I'm really excited to see my name on the ending scoreboard. Congrats guys, it's been fun, and I look forward to more next year =)

A one night stand with a Graboid (while incredibly dangerous and filled with a lot of topsoil) is an honor I wear proudly. Here's hoping next year I get some more notches in my belt.
