The adorable folks over at Criterion released their New Year’s Card to the masses and in it hints for some titles to expect in the year ahead. Folks have already deduced that Y Tu Mama Tambien (Spanish beach sign) and Carlos (dude holding gun) are most likely amongst the next wave, but some interesting possibilities have been brought up. Like Pulp Fiction (suitcase with sunlight), though I doubt it.
These kind of little visual puzzles are great. Especially if it ultimately leads to the Criterion incarnation of Poltergeist II: The Other Side.

Suitcase with light is kiss me deadly, more than likely. If it was pulp fiction, they'd use the slightly more iconic image of a hunched over, bleeding from the ass Ving Rhames.
Comment #2—Or Christopher Walken with a watch up his ass. How no one ever made a real action figure line of that movie, I will never understand. I would definitely buy a "Marvin" with interchangeable (well, removable…) head figure for sure.

I believe the suitcase with the sunlight is actually for KISS ME DEADLY… but either film would be great.
Also excited about CUL-DE-SAC, CARLOS, and KNIFE IN THE WATER.

Kiss Me Deadly on Blu-Ray would easily be one my discs of the year if they did it.

Aw crap. I was thinking of Naked Kiss. Yeah, Kiss Me Deadly will be awesome though.
Unfortunately that’s not Pulp Fiction, man. I got a BluRay player two months ago and while I was not planning on upgrading my DVD collection, I find I simply cannot abide not seeing those films I love so much in HD. I’ve already purchased so many more BluRays than I imagined I would, believing I would rely on Netflix to provide. Because you know in a decade BluRays will be old news. Likely many films will begin having some kind of 3D option, right? I love 3D for naturalistic texture, not as a gimmick. I like 3D when the films laws of depth reflect our own. That’s whats great about the possibilities. Not having the film confront me. Sorry for the tangent. While I’m at it, let me encourage everybody to send prayers to Fincher (though I’m an atheist) that he watch those damn reels of The Game and allow Criterion to do their jobs in FINALLY getting me my favorite movie!
