Today we get looks at Spider-Man and Captain America in their respective costumes and I think back to the late 90’s when the internet puked on its own chest in excitement and discussion about the way that 4-color pulp made its way into neoprene and latex. Nowadays we’re so used to it, it’s just another part of the game.
I personally don’t feel much for this. There’s only so much leeway you have with the traditional Spider-Man costume, but the way it bunches up at the hands looks wrong and the spider emblem looks like clip art after a bender. But the main thing I’m happy about is that Andrew Garfield doesn’t have his huge hair as Peter Parker.
So, it’s a costume.
If you want to be part of Spidey’s network of buddies, Sony recommends you hang out at his Facebook Page. Of course, only after you come to ours.

Personally, I like the new direction they went with the costume. They couldn’t just go with Sam Raimi’s look, otherwise what’s the point? They went more geeky with this one. He doesn’t look buff-out which actually makes him look more like Spidey did in Civil War. Which might be a good thing.
I don’t know how to feel about this. Unlike the angry fantards that will soon populate this space, I’m gonna wait to see this in motion before I judge. I still do think Andrew Garfield is a good choice for Parker though.
I like it. It’s the Spider-Man suit, so really, why wouldn’t I? It looks good, it looks real without feeling chintzy. It’s got everything it needs. Sure, I wanted them to do something that made it look more different from Tobey’s suit – maybe put him in the Ben Reilly version with the larger spider emblem or something – but I’m not gonna be a pissant about what’s obviously a damn fine costume.
Okay, why is he carrying a purse?
I like this outfit, actually. Instantly recognizable, yet a little different from other iterations.
It’s really thick and rubbery-looking. Doesn’t look like it’d be as flexible a suit as Spider-Man would need. I wonder how rigid the mask will look.
Also, how do high school kids from dirt-poor families keep affording these fuckin’ suits?
Hey, check out the Hi-res version of the picture. Now, look at the wrists. Looks like those brass buttons could be…wait for it…WEB SHOOTERS? I think so. I also think I have too much time on my hands…
Never seen a bookbag before? All the kids use them in school these days.
THANK YOU!!! Someone else who finally realizes these costumes are bought/made by a kid in high school with financial woes!! It’s part of the freakin’ character!
Looking at the hi-res version on AICN (CHUD should post a link), those look like claw marks across his chest…
LIZARD!!!!!
Anyone else think Garfield has the figure of a woman? Dang. He’s just too slender. If grew his hair a bit longer and stuck on some tits, I’d kiss him.
Screw Andrew Garfield. Screw this costume. Screw this movie. It’s all gonna end in tears. . . I say that with love.
I dig it. I think I like it better than Raimi’s Spider-man costume. I just hope Garfield isn’t as whiny as Maguire was (-_-)

Im down with Garfield playing Peter Parker. I was worried who they were going to pick. He was awesome in The Social Network I dont see why he would be bad in this either.
