Michael Fassbender continues his slow and sexy takeover of cinema today by accepting, at long last, a role in Ridley Scott’s Prometheus alongside Noomi Rapace.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Fassbender has been in talks for the role for months, circling it when it was still an Alien prequel. Now, of course, it’s its own thing with “Alien DNA.”
Naturally, the whole thing is still under extremely tight wraps, but Fassbender’s role might give a hint as to what some of that DNA might be. He’s playing an android. Could we see more dark doings of The Corporation Company* in this?
Prometheus has a new release date of June 8, 2012. There’s nothing much to say beyond that except that the combination of Rapace and Fassbender is worth a ticket alone. Good casting so far. Really good.
* Bad mistake!

I’m hoping this movie won’t be a let down because it sounds so great on paper, fortunately Fassbender is always fantastic so it will at least have that going for it.
As long as he’s playing a company agenda android like Ash, and not a pussy human-loving one like Bishop. I HATED Bishop. Ash rocked. And I’m very excited about this film.
The Alien fanboy in me requires that I point out it’s The Company, not The Corporation.
Fassbender in a new Alien movie? Holy shit, man.
