While we wait for Thor and Company to hit the screen in multiple big-budget feature adaptations, Disney is releasing the first 13 episodes of The Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes! to give us our Marvel fix.
They’ve split the animated series into two volumes – one includes episodes 1-7, two includes 8-13 – both of which include sneak peaks at the story arc and development of what’s to come in Season 2.
Featuring your favorite animated Super Heroes – Iron Man, Thor, Captain America, and The Hulk – The Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes! sees planet Earth threatened by Super Villains, time traveling conquerors, alien invaders, mythical beasts and rampaging robots — all bent on the total destruction of humanity. Unfortunately against these impossible odds, no individual hero has the power to save the world and just when all appears to be hopeless, the most skilled champions in the Marvel universe join forces to form the mightiest Super Hero team in history. The Avengers come to the rescue when the fate of the world rests on their shoulders.
Both volumes will hit stores the same day on April 26th, each as a single-disc DVD retailing for $19.99 a piece.

Where’s my Blu Ray? It’s ‘Spectacular Spider-Man’ all over again.
Also, where are the rest of the episodes? The first season has 19 episodes, not 13.
For fuck sake, do studios still not realize kids aren’t the ones watching these shows? It’s the 30 year old geeks, who have money and like these things collected, keeping these shows afloat.
Give me the full goddamn season, on bluray no less, or fuck off.
S.D. Bob Plissken, The…Full season set will likely arrive right before the start of Season 2. Also, I think there might be a few more episodes, this season.
Ryan Mason, It is nice to see…The Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes arrive on dvd, but I will be waiting for the full season as well. Good review though.
