The Amazing Spider-Man doesn’t hit theaters until July 3, 2012 but the sequel is already in progress.
The shock and screams you hear are from 2014, where they’re just realizing The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is coming out, and they’re writing a gazillion articles about sequels, unoriginal properties, comic book movies, etc.
According to Heat Vision, James Vanderbilt is keeping the job of Spider-Man scribe. Since he’s writing the adventures of Peter Parker since this thing was still Spider-Man 4, so Sony must like him quite a bit.
There would be more to add here if we knew very much about The Amazing Spider-Man. Come 2012, we could all be shaking our fists at the screen and damning Vanderbilt’s name.

Wow. I didn’t realise that the the new Spidey movie wasn’t out until 2012. I thought it was a lot closer than that. I’m still undecided about it but I truly hope it’s good enough for me to be happy about a sequel. I really like most of the casting (especially Andrew Garfield) but I haven’t seen or read anything yet that truly makes me excited. *Fingers crossed*
I hope they give it a cooler title than “Amazing Spider-Man 2.” Be pretty cool if they follow the trend of adjective Spider-Man titles, like, Spectacular Spider-Man or Ultimate Spider-Man or Sensational or what have you.
