Well, it’s not the full film (seriously, what do we need to do?) but Splatter Container has nabbed the credit sequence for John Carpenter’s long awaited Ghosts of Mars followup The Ward. The sequence is certainly is slick as can be, and gives you an idea of what Mark Kilian’s score will sound like.
Echo Lake Entertainment has picked up The Ward for U.S. distribution but has no details about a release. Hopefully this will avoid a DTV release but please bring this one out soon either way, ok guys? We still need to wash Pro-Life out of our mouths.

I saw this at Midnight Madness. Don’t hold your breath. In my opinion it was worse then Pro-Life. Lame characters, zero set pieces and *SPOILER* a brain hemmorage inducing twist *ENDSPOILER* The audience was laughing AT the film during its world premiere! The only thing that makes it feel like Carpenter behind the wheel are a few steady-cam shots, other then that, it’s DTV garbage.
This has at least 3 things going for it: 1) wasn’t shot by Gary Kibbe, 2) wasn’t cut by Ed Warschilika and 3) wasn’t produced by Sandy King. These are all fine people, but when you put them together Carpenter turns off his brain. It’s nice to see the old man finally step out of his comfort zone.
