Funny that Sean Bean plays Eddard for reasons I can’t get into without entering spoiler territory.

Premiere was great. Tits aplenty. But more importantly, a pretty epic setup. I really need to check these books out.

I want to see Sean Beans tits.
 
 

Maybe even better than I expected.  I had faith in HBO, and the fact that the author was unabashedly enthusiastic about it and had considerable input (and indeed helped write some of the episodes) was a big plus, but even so…the performances all seemed top notch so far, and even the kids were pulling their weight (which is good considering how much the story weighs on them later on).
 
Even the nit-picky things like some characters not quite matching Martin’s descriptions or my personal “vision” of them quickly fell by the wayside.  It’s off to a good start…here’s hoping HBO sticks to it long enough to adapt the whole series…and Martin gets in gear enough to finish said series.

Loved the novels and LOVED the premiere!  Can’t wait for the rest of the season!  Also, HBO is apparently so pleased with this series that they are expected to announce season 2, A Clash of Kings, on Monday.

Arya was the best casting of the series I think. I’m not yet sold on Sarah Connor as Cersei but I’ll give her the benefit of the doubt. Also, Dinklage is going to win an Emmy this year, fo sho.

Never read the books, but was delighted there were monsters in it and not just a castle politics show.  It was a solid first episode and I hope HBO pumps money into this show for seasons to come.  Also, Momoa gave me good vibes as the nomad king which translates to him being a great Conan.

Meh. I didn’t think it was all that great. Just another Spartacus/Merlin/Camelot clone. Actually fell asleep watching it.

I am certain it will get better. Most first debut shows try too hard to set themselves apart. This is one of them. i do like the cast (Yay Dinkelage!) and I doubt HBO will fumble this opportunity, given their exemplary track record. It’s just that this first episode didn’t set the world on fire, but maybe that was the point. I give the first episode a solid B-
