Alright, it looks better than I expected. Colin Farrell looks better than I expected. That said, it feels nothing like Fright Night to me. It feels like The Lost Boys. Actually, it feels like Jennifer’s Body. Luckily, there’s not much of Christopher Mintz-Plasse who as Evil Ed has the power to make or break the flick. I fear break. There’s only one Stephen Geoffreys.
Take a peek, courtesy of IGN. I got suckered into watching the preceding ad five times before getting it to work. On the heels of yesterday’s horrible Tree of Life embedded ad I’m getting a bit grumpy.

I’m starting to think it is a good thing that they’re are keeping Peter Vincent out of the trailer. So far this one is still straddling the line between being an entertaining remake or an unnecessary cash grab with a 3D cherry on top to make it go down smoother. Time and further marketing will tell.
not interested… looks “by the numbers” as far as horror films go. Maybe Netflix Instant.
I wish that someone could do pop-up videos of XBOX achievements on trailers for when they use the Howie Scream, and bonus achievements for using a processed Howie Scream on the title credits
Loving the cast. Rest of the film looks like pretty good/competent remake bizness. Is that Imogen Poots?
I think the Peter Vincent element is the weak link right now (would much rather him be a horror icon from the 80’s who he seeks out and not a Criss Angel type, Lance Henriksen would have been great for this), but Farrell looks well cast, and Anton Yelchin looks like a good neo-Ragsdale. Can’t say I dislike McLovin as Evil Ed either.
It won’t be the original (many horror films aren’t), but I have a feeling it’ll lean more towards The Crazies than A Nightmare on Elm Street in terms of horror updates. I wonder if we’ll get a remake of the sequel with bowling werewolves and stuff if this does well.
Nothing wrong with looking like The Lost Boys.
So I have to watch a commercial in order to watch a commercial? Welcome to America.
These ads that you can’t mute or pause are fucking EVIL! Evil, I tell you!
So when is it going to officially be rated pg-13 so I can take a class of 3rd graders to see it?
Really playing down the geek angles. Playing it as Disturbia with Vampires. Bait and Switch or actual confidence they can get the demographic they actually want without needing to pander to the usual WoM Geek Army (who won’t like it anyway)?
I’d rather it be it’s own take. Fuck 80s icons or other geek-bait bullshit. Tennant really needs to do more than be Dr Who in disguise.
