I’ve been perusing the wires today for TV news, as this is one of the busiest weeks in TV with the Upfronts and all. So far, both Fox and NBC have announced their Fall and mid-season line-ups, and Donald Trump shocked the world with news that he ain’t gonna be prez. So, along with the two aforementioned schedule announcements, some shows have had to be axed. Here’s a list of what’s out so far on all the networks, via TV Squad:

Save Chuck! Oh, wait, nevermind. I caught the first episode of The Cape and got a laugh that that thing ever got past the scripting stage. The Chase had potential, but it was up against Castle and Hawaii Five-O and the DVR is a cruel mistress. Law & Order: LA only had 20 more seasons to go before tying Gunsmoke…. Good to asee Paul Reiser back on TV for 30 seconds or so…OK, I actually never even saw a promo for the show. Had nine episodes of The Event stockpiled to watch…never could muster the neergy to do it.

Actually, FOX is reconsidering canceling Breaking In. It might be back next year.
I caught an episode of that. It was pretty good I thought.
Sad to see Human Target, Chicago Code, Lie to Me and The Event go. Disappointed that V struggled as much as it did, but that’s mainly because I’m nostalgic for the elder series. Saw No Ordinary Family once. It was boring. It kept reminding me of a crappy Fantastic 4. Running Wilde was good fun because Arnet is always good.
What made Smallville’s finale so awful? Sure, the fight sequences could have been longer and better, but I never really thought the show was about the battles. I thought it was about a boy from Kansas growing up and becoming Superman.
V was still on? Who knew?
Am I the only one who enjoyed Mr. Sunshine, Perfect Couples, Breaking In, & Traffic Light? Sunshine grew on me as the weeks progressed, Couples was hilarious mainly for the two guys who were in She’s Outta My League and Olivia Munn. Traffic Light took that same concept in a little different direction, and Breaking In was just hilarious. Michael Rosenbaum plays the perfect douche and finally Christian Slater is enjoyable. Surprised S#*! lasted an entire season before getting the axe. Everything else I never tried to watch I wasn’t just that interested.
As far as series finale’s are concerned I’ve seen a lot worst. It wasn’t perfect and they’ve could’ve tuned a few things but Smallville brought out the inner geek, besides it lasted 10 seasons so apparently there was an audience for that long.
I have enjoyed The Chicago Code quite a bit and am really disappointed to see it go. It’s the closest the Networks have gotten to a The Wire-esque cop show, with an overarching story line and multiple character arcs all standing on their own but tying together. Not making a comparison of quality, of course, but it still was solid fare.
Apparently, the producers of The Event are shopping it around to the cable networks in an effort to save the show. But the only thing that could actually save it is a new staff of writers.
Hope Breaking In gets that second go-round.
I wanted to stay on-board with Lie To Me because of Roth and the premise, but they kept fucking with it. Sudden intense focus on the dull as shit supporting character’s lives, then they’re forgotten – barely registering as characters at all any more, then it’s all the shit with his ultra-smug/twee daughter who doesn’t resemble any existing human being anywhere, except maybe the Gilmore Girls universe. The unfocussed side stories of the semi-regular female cop and his possible romantic interest in his partner. And Roth trying to keep the energy going against all the disorganization, becoming more and more like a tiny manic cockney windmill.
Outsourced and Perfect Couples actually kicked a lot of ass.
Ha! The Cape. I watched season 1, simply as a how not to do it exercise. How they got so many famous people?! Someone knew someone’s buttons…
