So we’ve gotten plenty of posters, stills, teasers, and trailers to kind of get the measure of this new Conan film, and I think it’s safe to say that there’s not much to say. Clearly the film has scale, but many films appear to have scale and end up being crammed with CGI bloat rather than valuable texture. It looks expensive, but how good of an idea is that for this kind of film in this day and age? Will audiences take to the Barbarian? They didn’t really give a shit about a Persian…
Personally, I feel there was a sparseness to the original Conan that I do miss here, and I must say that Jason Mamoa is not as absurdly built as I feel a barbarian should be, but otherwise I’ve got a pretty much “wait and see” attitude. Too many movies that looked good or had my anticipation senses riled up have been disappointments this year for me to possibly expend energy looking forward to Conan. Lang could be fun, but that ain’t enough. Perlman will be cool, but he won’t be in it enough.
Regardless, a new trailer has emerged on Facebook, and you can click over there to have a look. This UK trailer is definitely full of new peeks at this interpretation of the Conanverse, so have a look and let me know if you give even the slightest of shit about the film. Do so on twitter, in the comments, or on the boards– whatever suits your burly fantasy…
Thanks to Brian H. who is always rock and roll.

Nope, no shit given.
Renn Brown, I…Love, the new Conan Trailer! Thank…Crom, it is the film with, Robert E. Howard’s Barbarian, and not that…Unfunny Red Haired Comedian! I definitely feel that this…New Conan will be in the same class of great Sword and Sorcery films as…Conan The Barbarian (82) and The Beastmaster, as opposed to some of the lesser works in the Genre like, Kull The Conqeror and Red Sonja!
Howard’s Conan was catlike agile: more than fit surely but not “absurdly built”. As much as I love Milius’ take, you have to admit that STEROIDS-enhanced muscles were not to be expected in a “barbarian” 😉
The only Conan trailer that I enjoyed was the blood soaked redband trailer. I assumed this was PG13 until I saw that.
I’d be more interested if this was a Khal Drogo centric Game of Thones prequel. Is it too late for a reshoot?
