The illustrious Fernando “Fro” Reza is at it again doing amazing portraits based on our favorite movies. This one wasn’t commissioned for us, but it’s no less beautiful. In addition to reprinting some of his most requested works (including CHUD’s The Thing prints), he’s uncorked a They Live piece!

That Mondo poster was fantastic, are you mental?
You know, I dig Mondo and all (and really, isn’t there room for both?), but I always prefer subtly and nuance in a poster… and this… this fires on all cylinders.
I was prepeared, based on his oft-mentioned love of the film, for Fairey to give us something amazing and evocative – instead, I got a bit of branding. He managed to leave his Andre the Giant mug off of his well-known Obama imagery…and the posters he’s done for Henry Rollins and other touring artists/comedians – he should have left it out of this project, as well.
All that hype, and I got a barely-colored redux of a Fright Rags shirt with an incongruous Andre the Giant head on it. I’m not “mental” – I just don’t go in for weak imagery.
