The fine gents at /Film curated a large batch of new shots from Tintin today, and as I perused them I noticed that there is a whole lot of close lookin’ happening in them. I guess it bodes well for adventurous investigator element of the story that so many items are being so intently examined. If it’s not small things being looked at, the character are observing some other occurrences with shock and surprise.

Apparently there’s always something to look at in the Spielberg/Jackson world. This, along with War Horse, will soon hit as a double-whammy from The Beard, and at this point I think we’re all ready to drop the conversations about uncanny valleys and WWI horses and just see the damn things. I know I am. So take a look at these images (there are a couple more that are less focused on looking, over at /Film) and see if you can make it a few more months…

This looks so great. I’ve got faith in the fact that with Jackson and Spielberg it’ll be something special. I only wish I knew the first thing about Tintin to have some point of reference.
I’m right there with ya, Michael. I know zilch about the character and his world, and when this was first announced, it was met with a resounding “meh” from me. Now I’m really, really looking forward to it.
I’ve read a few of the Tintin books, and Jackson and Spielberg really are a perfect fit for the material. Although part of me wishes the films were live action.
