I’m more of a high octane Diesel man myself, but I’m not even going to pretend that the idea of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson hunting monsters like werewolves and yetis doesn’t sound friggin’ awesome. Deadline is reporting that the former wrestler with the dazzling smile is gearing up to do just that in The Monster Hunter’s Survival Guide, an adaptation of a recent comic series by John Paul Russ.
It looks like Dwayne’s got a lot on his plate before this will happen, so there’s plenty of time for things to go south. I don’t know if Cowboys and Aliens screwed the Hollywood pooch on genre properties adapted from little known comics, but it seems like this could be a relatively low budget, low risk affair. I personally don’t see how The Rock fighting a yeti won’t translate to boffo box office, but I’ve been wrong before. Either way, I love me some monsters, and would love to see this happen, and soon.

Mr. The Rock Johnson has the physicality, the chops, and the charisma to be a huge (i.e., Schwarzenegger huge) action star. As long as his next movie trailer doesn’t have a record scratch and a cute kid dropping into his life, I’m on board.
