This is kind of dumb–a trailer for a trailer–but it’s a movie that has steadily taken a stranglehold on cinephile anticipation, as it’s become clear that whatever the full connection to Alien ends up being, Prometheus is more improtantly Scott taking on larger-than-life themes in a sci-horror setting. What could be more exciting than that? This 30secs is a little bit of dick swinging from iTunes trailers, advertising the fact that they’ll be hosting the advertising. But of course, we’ll bring you that trailer too when it debuts on Thursday.
Meanwhile catch a few glimpses of what’s to come, and hear Ridley himself set the stage…

Okay, that head-clutching bit is new on me. That’s the first touch of real Alien-level horror we’ve seen. It’s been a long fucking time between drinks right there….
The two pre-trailer trailers look cool and the glimpses of the movie look huge.
ALIEN had working-class characters, one of the things that really resonated with me, and everyone in PROMETHEUS looks shiny and perfect. Trying not to think about that too much. But jesus, look at Fassbender’s perfect hair wave thing. Gigolo Joe, much?
