Insurge Pictures presents a new spin on exorcism films with their most recent release, The Devil Inside, which explores both the “science” and religion behind exercising the demons out of an alleged murderer possessed by multiple demons. If you’re a fan of the horror genre, then this film is sure to creep you out with its chilling characters and a plot that will leave you guessing until the final minutes:
In 1989, emergency responders received a 9-1-1 call from Maria Rossi (Suzan Crowley) confessing that she had brutally killed three people. 20 years later, her daughter Isabella (Fernanda Andrade) seeks to understand the truth about what happened that night. She travels to the Centrino Hospital for the Criminally Insane in Italy where her mother has been locked away to determine if her mother is mentally ill or demonically possessed. When she recruits two young exorcists (Simon Quarterman and Evan Helmuth) to cure her mom using unconventional methods combining both science and religion, they come face-to-face with pure evil in the form of four powerful demons possessing Maria.
Many have been possessed by one; only one has been possessed by many.
Check out the trailer and let us know what you think about the evolution of exorcisms as portrayed in films over the past 50 years. Which are some of your favorite exorcism movies within this genre, and do you think The Devil Inside will be a notable contribution?
The film will be released on 1/6, so don’t forget to find your nearest midnight screening near you!

Sponsored post? I suppose this is better than a giant pop-up that fills up the entire page with blue shit. Actually, it’s a much better.
Thank you guys for finding a better medium vis-a-vis content and advertising. May I request that you keep up with the “sponsored post” prefix? I like it, it allows me to avoid checking to see if someone’s trying to trick me into liking something. I’m far more likely to see this than Skyline.
I agree. I much prefer this sponsored post mechanic over intrusive ads (as long as it is clearly tagged), and I appreciate that the site is looking at better solutions for integrating advertising.
Had free tickets to this last night but decided against it.
ATTENTION TO DETAIL ALERT!
Look closely at the promo picture of the possesed woman pulling her lip to reveal the cross tattoo (ooooh spooky!). She has brambles for hair, scars up and down her body, dirty, probably smelly too, and yet her nails have a nice sheen of polish.
Even the Devil gotta have a manicure!
Sponsored post or no sponsored post, I thought this was a cool trailer.
Supporter of the sponsored post. I think it looks like its got the goods and I’ll probably enjoy it. I really doubt it is offering something “new” but I like well done possession movies even though they are few and far between.
I think possession movies are kind of held back by the genre and what people expect of them. Everyone expects all of the “The Exorcist” beats and then they complain that its more of the same. One day it would be nice to see a completely different take but ehhh… it would probably be awful.
Saw the trailer ads running across the site and then via this post. I was intrigued and and entertained so decided to see the film yesterday. Glad I did. Really enjoyed it. Thanks for turning me onto it CHUD.
