Sex is how we’re made. Sex is also an avenue of pleasure for many people. However, since the early 1980’s, the idea of “free love” has been crushed with the advent of AIDS and other sexually transmitted diseases that were finally talked about more seriously.
Director Eric England wants to make a body horror movie called Contracted about the topic. Here’s a brief take on it, along with some words from him.
the film, penned by England, is about a young girl that has a one night stand with a random stranger and contracts what she thinks is an STD… but is actually something much worse.
“Contracted is a much different subject matter than what I’m used to taking on. It’s intimate and personal and has a lot to say about sexuality and promiscuity. If all goes right, I hope this film will do for hooking up with random strangers, what Jaws did for going to the beach.”
This is a pretty heavy subject, and nothing’s more frightening than contracting some kind of STD that turns you into Brundlefly. It will take a brave young lady to do a film like this. I’ve never heard of the director before, but I’ll be sure to keep this on my radar. You should too. If you value your “parts.”

I think this subject was already covered in My Demon Lover. You will succumb to the pathos of Scott Valentine!
Seriously, I don’t know whether to laugh or cry that this news dredged that movie up from the depths of my psyche.
The chances of a male catching AIDS from a woman are somewhere between the chances of dying from a shark attack and dying in a plane crash.
Which is just about completely irrelevant to this article. Sorry.
Most people know that condoms will protect them from all STDs. I highly doubt this film will put anyone off wanting casual nookie.
It sounds an awful lot like “Black Hole,” by Charles Burns – hopefully it’ll take some of the nastier subtext of that book, instead of being an after-school special with mutations. Actually, that sounds kind of awesome.

Dude, I’m right here.
