Here’s the Total Recall remake trailer. As a fan of the original (it’s my favorite Schwarzenegger film) I don’t know why they’ve remade it, but I have to say this trailer doesn’t look half bad and it reminds me of Minority Report which was a solid Philip K. Dick adaptation.

Crap.
Looks like a cool big-budget, probably brainless but still fun sci-fi flick. Evil Kate Beckinsale… this is something I like.
The whole Minority Report, Ultraviolet and I, Robot feel of this trailer is off-putting.
Also the lack of Michael Ironside is unacceptable.
Arnuld and Verhoeven are laughing their old nutsacks off. Ahnuld: “Ah, I dell you Paul deese yung philm makeres, dey are dee vorst”.
Lens Flare! Inception BWAHM! Pointless remake! PASS.
If you knew your Ahnold, you’d realize that he’ll see this and praise it to the Heavens of Hyperbole.
where are the three tits?
This looks like shit.
“but I have to say this trailer doesn’t look half bad”
Not half bad – all bad! The milquetoast Bladerunner Art Direction ain’t helping the cheap feel either. One thing Scott can do, is make a $5 bit of plywood look like a million dollar bit of plywood – while Mr Kate Beckinsale somehow manages to make a $5 bit of plywood look like a $2 bit of plywood rendered on a 3D suite from 2002.
I’m not a big fan of Arnie’s movie, but at least it’s it’s own creature. This looks more a work of unoriginal fanfic than a real movie.
My husband is going to be dragging me to the film no matter what, as he is a huge Cranston fan (he loves Breaking Bad); so the lack of the Cranston in this trailer doesn’t make me too happy. Meh.
Cue requisite Bourne Identity “Holy shit I just killed everyone” scene.
So is this going to be a completely Mars-less Total Recall? Didnt see one hint of the red planet.
Supposed to be closer to the book than the Arnie movie was. Not read the book though but loved the arnie movie alot.
Also i am so sick of these fancy fight and gunplay scenes that are over choreographed. Its just boring now. John Woo can film a fight scene, look at Hard boiled? More tension and more fun to watch. This is to fake, hate it.
Cant we go back to normal fist fights? Atleast it would be different.
Was thinking the same thing. “My God – HOW DID I DO THIS?” …again.
While I cannot condone the very idea of this remake — I’m probably gonna go see it for Cranston and a (hopefully) extended Beckinsale vs. Biel fight scene. I’m not proud.
Well said.
As neat as the whole futuristic, urban jungle, cityscape is for a sci-fi film, the element of Mars really gave Total Recall a thrill of a unique adventure, as it really hadn’t been done in a modern action film before. If this film stays in Sci-fi Future City X, which I believe it does, it’s going to end up getting compared to the likes of Blade Runner which it won’t hold a candle to and at least a half dozen other films that it’ll be, at best, indistinguishable from. If they were going to go to all the trouble and expense of CG saturated environments, it would have been nice if they took me somewhere exotic and new.
