I had no idea about this remake until news hit about it a few days ago that Jamie King and Malcolm McDowell were cast in it as a Deputy Sheriff and the Sheriff who is also a small town hero respectively.
Now there’s word that Donal Logue, Jamie Kennedy, Tim Burton’s former squeeze, Lisa Marie, a gent named Brendan Fehr, and the lovely Ellen Wong are going to be in this remake now titled Silent Night (why do they have to cut the title down? Just leave it as is. It’s great.)
I know the original had an 18 year old man as the demented Santa who screams “NAUGHTY!!”, but I really really REALLY hope that the new demented Santa is played by Donal Logue.

I think the “get naughty” tag line was a stretch, but I’ll give you points for trying.
In a lot of ways, this is probably a valid remake because you can actually improve on a lot here. But it seems they’re kind of in the shitter because now there are so many psycho Santa flicks out there that it seems pretty pointless. But I guess it’s nice to know someone has a lot of extra money out there to do something like this. Too bad it’s not going to something noteworthy like re-douching SCANNERS or something. At least there will be a lot of people invested in hating it and will watch it anyway. And I agree, gotta keep the whole title.

Is that remaking SCANNERS shot-for-shot except all the characters have popped collars?
Now this can be a remake that actually makes the movie good. I have seen all of these movies and even though they succ horribly they havesomething no other horror movie has which is a Killer Santa. This series is so bad that part 2 took 45 mins showing the highlights of part 1. The acting was horrid and the movie was cheesy but it was always a good idea.
