Linda Lovelace’s career in pornography was as tragic as it was memorable. There’s been 2 films that have been struggling to get going, and one (starring Amanda Seyfried. Yawn.) has apparently gotten started.

The other one, Inferno, has a very troubled history, as it was initially going to star Lindsay Lohan, then she had all her drug and booze issues with the law, and they threw her out in favor of the (much superior) Malin Ackerman.

Seems there’s now word straight from her that Inferno might just have gone up in flames.

Here’s the quote directly from her.

“I don’t know if that’s even going to go. Last I heard, which was just before Christmas, we were supposed to start shooting in March, and now it’s April. It’s been one of those doomed films that I absolutely love and totally believe in.”

It’s really great to hear that she’s still holding out hope for the film to get going, but if production start dates have already passed, and no news about other cast members signing on (according to the source article, Adam Goldberg was sniffing around for a role, but nothing came about) it really seems that this project will go in the cancelled pile. She also mentions funding being an issue, as well as the already in progress Seyfried starring film. Personally, I’d rather see the Malin Ackerman one. I’m just not crazy over Amanda Seyfried like some are.
