Happy weekend, everyone! Stopping by to drop off this trailer for Judd Apatow’s latest work, This is 40 – a spin-off of Leslie Mann and Paul Rudd’s characters from Knocked Up.
A pretty unremarkable trailer all things considered. I’m not sure why the white lady with a nice job, nice house and nice family is so upset with her life. So in a lot of ways it’s like Nora Ephron has a new movie out too. Perhaps I’m just preconditioned to dislike this because it feels like puppet masters are wiring fun’s awful We Are Young straight into my cerebral cortex. If I could remove the part of my brain that processes and remembers that song I would be brain dead. And content.

FUN. We are young – Rocks.
Their other song are better.
Be interesting to see how well this does considering how affluent they are in the current economic situation. She seems to be working at least (from home?) which is in keeping with Knocked Up’s focus on the Modern Career Woman’s experience of Life’s Big Changes.
I do kind of like the idea that older dudes are embracing the asshole/prostate as their counter to a life of dealing with the roll-on effects of their partner’s downstairs dramas/sensitivities, like it’s “their time to shine”.
