Let’s play a game. I haven’t watched this trailer yet, but I’m going to try to guess what happens. In no particular order:
- A shot of Alice (Milla Jovovich) waking up in a stange room.
- Establishing location shots of landmarks, immediately followed by city-wide moments of terror.
- Alice-monologue that has little-to-no context.
- Alice running towards the monsters, Alice running away from monsters.
- Kung-fu!
- Some sort of object being thrown towards the camera in spinning motion. I’d reckon it happens more than once.
- Admiral Ackbar in a ladywig (a guy can dream).
How’d I do?

Huh. Well, that’s that.
Tim Kelly, This trailer is a vitual…Wonderland, with…Alice, and many…EEEEEEEEEEEvil Residents of Racoon City, looks…3DDelightfully Awesome!
Without even activating my browser’s Flash plug-in I’m going to guess this trailer shows steaming shit that makes me resent the very invention of the motion picture.
Congratulations, Tim, you nailed all of them (some were in there multiples times!). I wasn’t sure about the Admiral Ackbar one t first, but I consulted our judges and they unanimously agree that Michelle Rodriguez is close enough.
Things running towards the camera! Things running away from the camera! Explosions! 3D! SEPTEMBER!
It’s kind of scary just how accurate your predictions were. Bravo, I say!
Thank you! I had to pat myself on the back a little. These films have followed a very rigid structure.
Looks really cool. I’m in.
Ada Wong, Leon Kennedy and Jill Valentine (again) are all in the mix, so that’s cool. The movies are better than the games. Yeah, I said it.
That last part has to be a joke. It just haaas to.
Anyway, my love of the Resident Evil game franchise unfortunately prevents me from fully hating this series of movies. I also have man love for Leon Kennedy, and so far, they have a spotty record in dealing with the portrayal of iconic characters. Hopefully they don’t shit on Leon like they did Chris and Claire. Should they do that, I think I’ll finally hate the silver screen franchise.
The first one was bad enough to make me stop 20 minutes in, and I outright refuse to watch any of the sequels, so I’ll not be seeing this. Fuck Screen Gems, Fuck Milla, Fuck Paul WS Anderson, and fuck you for making these film $675 million goddamn dollars.
I’d love to take you up on that 2nd “fuck” there. As would most of the viewing audience… But after the last movie basically shat on the face of the viewer, I’ll just say no thanks.
