This isn’t news, nor is this clip particularly new either. But I thought those who have been keeping up with the current Franchise Me might find this an interesting viewing. It is test footage of seven-foot-plus non-actor Bolaji Badejo creeping around the set of 1979’s Alien. Badejo barely seems real himself.

nice find! i’ve seen a picture before of him in full costume except for the mask. even though this is test footage that is some creepy stuff
His movements make me wonder if he has a damn near impossible time seeing inside the suit, like most suit actors portraying a monster. Its also surprised me that even though the movie has mostly quick cuts of the alien, Scott still chose that awkward scene of it seemingly floating towards Lambert, its arms waving like its treading water. I never understood why that shot was left in, and for so long.
pretty sure it’s a sex thing. The Alien is ludicrously slow when dealing with Lambert, almost teasing her, Parker comes in and it deals with him lightning fast, then sloooooowly back to Lambert, then the agonisingly slow death screams.
I like that shot, actually. There’s something genuinely grotesque and dreamlike about it, which could be why Scott used it.
