There’s a new trailer out for the unnecessary remake of Total Recall. From the footage shown, it looks a whole lot like the original film. Three boobied prostitute? Check. Quaid fights with Lori? Check. Then there’s slight changes like instead of fighting Harry and his thugs in an alley, he fights goons at Rekall. Still pretty much the same.
The trailer shows a few things that seem different, and I won’t lie. I’ll still see it. They should just really stop saying crap like “It’s different, it’s set on Earth. It’s more like the original story.”

Interest8ing – it’s a vast improvement on the previous trailer, but as you say – it makes it look even more unnecessary now. For some reason I keep forgetting Mr Beckinsale is into all that acrobatic camera movement and over-thought action. As with Snyder, that shit’s the first thing to fade from memory after an action movie. It really is the character and tone that sticks when a filmmakers can’t “imprint” cinematic images on the audience, just re-hash familiar visual touchstones.
