Prepare yourself, folks. IFC Films has given us this utterly amazing trailer for Tetsuo: The Bullet Man for you to feast your eyes and ears on.

That pretty much says everything you need to know about the film, right? If you’ve not yet experienced Shinya Tsukamoto’s insane series, do yourself a favor and pick up the original Tetsuo: The Iron Man and prepare to feel your mind explode. A cyberpunk nightmare that feels like early David Lynch decided to tackle some Cronenberg body horror, it’s short and violent and has an ending that will never escape your memory.
This third film in the series is Tsukamoto’s first English-language film and played in both the Tribeca and Venice Film Festivals, which goes to show you how much people have come to appreciate the director’s work.
Tetsuo: The Bullet Man opens on Friday, January 21st at the IFC Center in NYC. You can also catch it starting on the 19th on their On Demand platform on cable. Check the official IFC site for more info.

I have the Japanese DVD release of this. It’s always nice to see new Tsukamoto. It was interesting to see how he ties the three films together.
Moshi moshi. Nice, very nice. The original’s been long-burned into my brain, it’s a totally indescribable mix of New Wave, cyberpunk, and MTV smash-cutting which I can only imagine has been honed further over the years.
Still keeping my fingers crossed for that Tsukamoto/Tarantino/TETSUO project.

finally got round to watching this trailer – much love. I saw Tetsuo 2: The Body Hammer at a midnight double bill screening at the Cameo in Edinburgh many years back. The second feature was Akira so it was quite the sensory overload. I still remember the ‘the city seems so peaceful now’ line of Tetsuo 2 making the whole audience go ‘huh?’.
