I won’t be able to say what I think about The Host for another month and a half, but thankfully “from the mind of Stephanie Meyer” should really tell you all there is to know. The Twilight author’s attempt at science fiction, The Host weaves a love triangle into an Body Snatchers-style story of a conquered earth complete with all the baffling romantic subtext you’d expect from the brain behind Bella, Ed, and Jacob. Saoirse Ronan stars as a human rebel who is finally captured and made to host an invader’s “soul,” but manages to fight back against her mental parasite.
Andrew Niccol (whose Lord Of War I still love immeasurably) brings the story to the screen, complete with chromed out Lotuses and William Hurt. It opens March 29th.

Just chiming in to say I’m so happy others out there love Lord of War as much as I do.
Has everyone forgotten GATTACA?!
And the reign of the orange-&-teal poster color scheme continues. *sigh*
I would pay to see a chromed out William Hurt.
The author and source material gives me no hope, but the director and star (Hannah!) do. Had I not known this was from the mormon who wrote twilight I’d be full blown exited after seeing this, as it stands….cautiously optimistic until further notice.
his IN TIME helped me forget it.
